Alcoholism and Anxiety

Mainstream recovery suggests that anxiety is induced by alcoholism, but I would beg to differ. Alcoholism is driven by anxiety. Anxiety is not the direct fundamental cause of alcoholism. The cause or generator is family, relationship dynamics. Anxiety is merely a driver in a four-part chain reaction. Here’s the real formula below: Cause —————————————————————————–Effect Generators + Catalyzers + Paralyzers + Drivers = Alcoholism Since alcoholism and anxiety are connected, dousing the flames will make your destructive drinking vanish right before your very eyes. Eliminating anxiety requires action. Unfortunately paralyzers such as emotional deterrents and personal agendas stop most people in their tracks. Fear is a very common deterrent. As far as agendas go, averting the loss of a relationship or punishing others by engaging in self-destructive behavior are frequent paralyzers. Bottom line, someone or something is causing your anxiety. And, your anxiety is driving your alcoholism. Take action to eliminate the cause and you shall become alcohol free. Alcoholism and Anxiety
